Rates

Rates for back-of-the-book indexes are commonly charged by the indexable page. In general, my rates range from $4.00 to $7.00 per indexable page, depending on the scope of the project. A typical rate might be $4.00-$5.00 per indexable page for trade books and $6.00 per indexable page for scholarly books.

However, each project is discussed individually. I will be glad to provide a quote based on a representative chapter from your book.

Database indexing work is usually done by the article or essay. Hourly rates can also be negotiated.
